Oasis – Standing On The Shoulder of Giants

Oasis - Standing On The Shoulder of Giants Oasis returned after a three year break in 2000 with their fourth studio album Standing on the Shoulder of Giants. Despite being their lowest selling album to date it became the 16th fastest selling album in chart history in the UK with first week sales of around 310 000 copies and was eventually certified double platinum. Standing on the Shoulder of Giants has a strong psychedelic thread running through the whole album and can be heard mostly on the track Gas Panic!. Other singles on the album include Go Let It Out Sunday Morning Call and Who Feels Love. Such as the standard of Oasis's previous albums this album's approach has been questioned by critics with many of them referring to the absences of two of the bands members during creation. But after all the controversy surrounding it it has since grown among music fans and has been a massive success. (Trevor Pratt)
